Despu\u00e9s de vivir y trabajar en Cuba durante siete a\u00f1os, me alej\u00e9 del mundo musical durante alg\u00fan tiempo. Por cosas de la vida, coincid\u00ed en Barcelona con mi buena amiga Lidia B\u00e9cquer que, por entonces, era la Gerente de RTV Comercial de Cuba.
Tiempo atr\u00e1s, hab\u00edamos empezado a escribir conjuntamente un libro acerca de la historia de la m\u00fasica cubana, que qued\u00f3 interrumpido por mi marcha de la isla y a ra\u00edz de nuestro reencuentro resurgi\u00f3 la idea de acabar la obra, al mismo tiempo que entend\u00edamos que se pod\u00eda volver a grabar a todos aquellos artistas que segu\u00edan en activo, pero que por cuesti\u00f3n de presupuesto y otras problem\u00e1ticas hab\u00edan pasado al olvido, a\u00fan teniendo un pasado brillante.
De momento, todo queda en suspenso hasta que yo fuese a Cuba. Transcurrido casi un a\u00f1o, fui de vacaciones y pas\u00e9 por la oficina de Lidia, en ese momento no entraban en mi mente los planes de los que hab\u00edamos estado hablando. Pero Lidia me los volvi\u00f3 a exponer de una forma tan entusiasta que me convenci\u00f3 y nos pusimos manos a la obra. Contactamos con varias orquestas: Am\u00e9rica, Sonora Gloria Matancera, Sublime, Maravilla de Florida y Chappott\u00edn. A todos les entusiasm\u00f3 el proyecto. Algunos de ellos, como Chappott\u00edn, llevaban 17 a\u00f1os sin grabar y se lamentaban de su ostracismo discogr\u00e1fico.
As\u00ed pues, emprendimos \u00e9ste proyecto con la misma ilusi\u00f3n y esperanza con las que hoy contin\u00fao, a pesar de que el camino no ha sido f\u00e1cil, y el fallecimiento de Lidia en Diciembre del a\u00f1o 2001 me hizo replantear muchas cosas.
A ella, todo el esfuerzo de trabajo de la compa\u00f1\u00eda Envidia y del equipo en Cuba (Alejandro Silva y Jos\u00e9 Luis Uriarte \u201cPepe\u201d), queremos dedicar estos a\u00f1os de trabajo ya que sin su impulso inicial, profesionalidad y cari\u00f1o hacia la m\u00fasica cubana, jam\u00e1s hubiera sido posible culminar este proyecto.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
After seven years living and working in Cuba, I left for a short time the music business. By chance I found with my good friend Lidia Becquer in Barcelona who, by these days, was the General Manager from RTV Comercial in Cuba. V00 1001 CD+DVD
In the back time, we\u2019d started together to write a book concerning the Cuban music, and being stopped because of my departure from the island. With our encounter spring up again the idea of finishing the task, also understanding hat we can record once more with all these still in active artist, but because of budget troubles and other problematical having a brilliant past had cast into oblivion.
By the moment, everything remains stand by until my next travel to Cuba. After a year, I went to Cuba on vacation and visiting Lidia at her office, although at this moment my mind doesn\u2019t was filled with these plans that we was talking about a year before. But Lidia exposed me once more the idea in a very enthusiastic way and finally persuading me and starting from this moment on with the task. We got in touch with several orchestras: Am\u00e9rica, Sonora Gloria Matancera, Sublime, Maravilla de Florida and Chappott\u00edn. All of them got filled with enthusiasm with the project. Some of them, like Chappott\u00edn, doesn\u2019t had been recorded an album since 17 years ago and was moaning so much of this.
We started this project with the same illusion and hope than today I still keep on, although the road didn\u2019t had been so easy and the Lidia\u2019s decease on December 2001 made me lay out the ground-plan of so many things.<\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
